Lindsey Vonn who has wowed us in the past by doing push-ups after recently fracturing her arm. So watching her pull off a tough workout shouldn’t be that surprising.
Usually, after a bad sports injury, athletes take it easy and slowly but surely work up to where they’re at. Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn isn’t one to take things slowly but surely.
Vonn noted how much it paid off a couple of days later:
What may surprise you is this core workout — posted by Vonn on Instagram recently — is deceptively challenging. At first glance you might think having straps holding up your legs helps. But look at how much the legendary skier bounces while having to keep her upper body held up and stable. It’s a much, much harder plank/crunch combination.
Just weeks after busting her arm, the gold-medalist was back doing pull-ups, of all things.
And now just eight months later, Vonn is back in full form, doing workouts that would make even your most dedicated gym rat sore for days. In a video posted to Instagram, the gold-medalist can be seen doing crunches mid-air, with her arms on rings and her legs suspended.
If you think the legs being suspended might make things easier — it doesn’t. Athletes all over are using TRX for a total body workout to increase stability, but this “Mission Impossible” workout is on another level (she’s not technically using a TRX, but it’s the same idea).
The most shocking part is that Vonn — a pretty insane athlete considering she wrote a freaking book about being strong — really struggles with it.
This isn’t the first time the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model has come back hard from an injury. After busting her leg in 2015, she spent her vacation time getting ripped on the beach instead of just lying around drinking margaritas.
But the hard work is paying off — and not just on the mountain. The next day, Vonn posted a pic with her football player boyfriend Kenan Smith, with her belly looking pretty tight.
